Fresh off its thrilling double-overtime upset of No. 8 Florida State on Friday night, Tony Elliott’s Virginia football team made its first appearance in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll since 2019.

The Cavaliers, 4-1 (2-0 ACC), come in at No. 24.

Elliott’s Wahoos are an early 6.5-to-7-point underdog to Louisville (4-0, 1-0 ACC) on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals were among teams “also receiving votes” in this week’s poll. Saturday’s game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

Florida State, which lost the 46-38 decision at Virginia, dropped 10 spots in the poll, down to No. 18.

In celebrating its return to the Top 25 poll, UVA Athletics announced a 25-percent flash sale on single-game tickets for the next two home games: Washington State (Oct. 18) and Wake Forest (Nov. 8). Tickets start at $22.50. Wahoo fans can also buy two lower-level tickets for $75 total.
